However, the evolution of software synthesis and the emergence of advanced proprietary formats—collectively referred to here as "DMF" (Digital Music Format, or referencing specific platform-specific formats like DefleMask/Tracker modules)—have exposed limitations in MIDI’s ability to represent high-resolution synthesis parameters. This paper presents a novel framework for the conversion of MIDI streams into the "DMF New" specification. We propose a semantic mapping layer that translates MIDI’s discrete event model into the structured, cell-based architecture of modern DMF environments, addressing challenges such as pitch bend resolution, continuous controller mapping, and instrument bank serialization.
