On the Installation Type screen, check the box next to the specific flavor of Stata (, SE , or IC ) that matches your license key. Click Continue .

For standard-sized datasets (default version for most students).

Log in using the credentials provided in your Stata License and Activation Key document. Select your operating system (Windows, Mac, or Linux).

Stata comes in different "flavors" depending on your license type. The installer package contains all versions, so you must select the one that matches your license document:

Use the pwd command to see your current default saving directory, and adjust it using the cd command if you prefer to save your datasets to a specific project folder.

Accept the default installation folder ( C:\Program Files\Stata16 ) and click .

Follow the prompts to select your flavor (e.g., Stata/MP, Stata/SE, or Stata/IC). SetupStata16

Click Next on the welcome screen. Read and accept the License Agreement, then click Next .

Navigate to your folder and double-click the downloaded Stata16.exe file.
