The HP 8653 is a custom-designed, form factor motherboard built primarily for 8th and 9th generation Intel Core processors (Coffee Lake architecture). It's a mainstream board used across HP's consumer desktop lineup, including the HP Pavilion series, HP ENVY series, and the HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop series.
While generally reliable, some users have reported a few common issues:
Like all late-90s electronics, the HP 8653 suffers from the infamous capacitor plague. Look for bulging or leaking cylindrical capacitors near the CPU VRM (voltage regulator module). Random reboots, failure to POST, or no power at all. hp 8653 motherboard

“From a quick Googling, the motherboard seems to have very basic VRM. Technically you can put a 9900K in it and it will boot up, but the performance will be limited by the VRM since they cannot handle the power pushed to that CPU.” Reddit · r/pcmasterrace · 2 years ago
The board does not use a standard 24-pin ATX power connector. It relies on HP proprietary power inputs. If you want to install a power-hungry graphics card, you cannot simply buy a standard retail power supply. You must source an upgraded, proprietary HP power supply (such as the HP 400W or 500W gold-rated units designed for these chassis). 2. Case Transplants
Use these flashcards to help memorize information. Look at the large card and try to recall what is on the other side. Then click the card to flip it. If you knew the answer, click the green Know box. Otherwise, click the red Don't know box.
When you've placed seven or more cards in the Don't know box, click "retry" to try those cards again.
If you've accidentally put the card in the wrong box, just click on the card to take it out of the box.
You can also use your keyboard to move the cards as follows:
If you are logged in to your account, this website will remember which cards you know and don't know so that they are in the same box the next time you log in.
