Forward-thinking brands leverage this day not by hijacking the hashtag with corporate ads, but by sponsoring Desi digital artists, funding community creators, and highlighting South Asian employees within their own corporate structures. Looking Ahead: The Future of Digital Diaspora Space

The first ESDA Social Design Days were held in May 2022 at the Escuela Superior de Diseño de Aragón (ESDA) in Zaragoza, Spain, to celebrate the school's recent inauguration into the DESIS Network. What started as a celebratory event has since evolved into a recurring, multi-institutional conference. Each edition has built upon the last, creating a global agora where social designers can share methodologies, challenge assumptions, and foster a culture of active, participatory design.

So here's to our desi social community - may it continue to thrive, grow, and bring us all closer together! Happy Desi Social Day, everyone!

These sessions aimed to expand the discussion beyond disciplinary boundaries, connecting design practice to broader social, cultural, and territorial contexts. Alongside the plenaries, the event featured panels and workshops that explored situated design approaches and their relation to territory, local knowledge, and collective well-being.
